Venezuela: Regional Elections

Today, October 15th 2017, my native country is going through new elections. Today Venezuela's population is out in the streets to elect State Governors and Legislators. There are basically two (2) main participants: the Mesa de la Unidad (democratic unity roundtable) also known as the MUD and the Gran Polo Patriótico (great patriotic pole) which has alliance with the current Socialist Government.

As I try to follow some of the Venezuela news, I see how people have been seem anxious about the process and the outcome. But the most talk about detail is the question: to vote or not to vote.

Venezuela Politics - Regional Elections

If people stay abstinent and do not vote, there might be a positive impact towards the Socialist vote. If people go out to vote, there might be a negative impact towards the Socialist group. In an odd way, people are afraid some sort of fraud so that negative impact gets low or practically disappears. People are afraid of loosing their votes.

As the day passes, I have been checking tweets and different comments through out different social media platforms. It seems people are out there voting and making their voices heard.

I really hope these results turn out for the best. I am still a hopeful Venezuelan woman that wants a positive change for her native country.
